A Sèvres Biscuit Porcelain Figure Group, 1762-66
This group was entitled 'La Maîtresse d'École' and depicts a female school teacher with two small boys who have just been chastised. It was first modelled for the porcelain factory in 1762 by the sculptor Etienne-Maurice Falconet after a drawing by the painter François Boucher.
Incised F for the years 1762-66 when Falconet was in charge of the sculpture studio at Sèvres.
