A French 18th Century Soft-Paste Sèvres Tea Pot, 1770
A French 18th Century Soft-Paste Sèvres Tea Pot with bleu Fallot panels and gold spirals, 1770.
The bleu Fallot colour was developed in the late 1760s by the painter Jean-Armand Fallot. It works well with the new neo-classical aesthetic, especially in cases like this where the gilded pattern creates strong motifs. Other pieces from this tea service are known with the date letter for 1770.
