A Green Ground Sèvres Punch Bowl, 1763

Punch Bowls were sold with a matching morter (mortier) – one ground spices in the morter and mixed them with alcoholic liquid in the larger bowl.

The morter that matched this punch bowl was discovered in an attic storeroom in the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg by Adrian Sassoon in June 2002.
