More about A Hard-Paste Sèvres Cup & Saucer, 1786

In February 1786 Dieu is recorded in the factory's archives as painting a number of cups and saucers with arabesques on a 'fond gravé' for which he was paid from 27 to 39 livres each. That was a high sum for the decoration work on a cup and saucer.
