A Hard-Paste Sèvres Porcelain Cup & Saucer, 1784

This goblet Litron et soucoupe is of the second size and has the factory mark in red, under a crown for hard-paste, enclosing the date letters GG for 1784, adjacent painter’s mark of a leafy branch for Nicolas Schrade (active at Sèvres 1773-95). Old paper collector’s labels marked DL

The decoration is very fine with small vignettes amongst gilded ground panels.. Having examined the artists payments for regular work and overtime work to Schrade for 1784 this piece does not stand out for being described in detail.
