A Sèvres Cup & Saucer, 1784

This gobelet litron et soucoupe is of the 2nd size and has turquoise-blue (bleu céleste) ground colour bands overlaid with trellis and scrollwork in gilding.  Birds and butterflies are painted between these bands set amongst coloured leafy trails.

Factory marks, the date letters gg for 1784 and the painter’s mark of a sword for Etienne Evans.
