A Sèvres Flower Vase given to Louis XV’s Chef, 1761

This cuvette Courteille has the date letter H for 1761. At the end of that year a flower vase of this description worth 144 livres was presented by the Sèvres porcelain manufactory to a Monsieur Dinant. That this is his vase is established as we purchased this along with a pair of vases Hollandois nouveaux with the date marks for 1760 and in the Sèvres archives we can see that M. Dinant ‘chef des cuisines’ in Louis XV’s household was presented with just such a pair in 1760.
