This soft-paste Sèvres porcelain plate (assiette) has the date letters pp for 1792 and the painters mark of Guillaume Noël.
It comes from a Sèvres dinner service sold to the Dutch banker Jean-Baptiste Vandernyver on 29th November 1792. The service originally contained 92 plates and much of it was sold at Christie’s in London in 1897. There are pieces from this service in the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.
