This soft-paste soucoupe à pied is decorated in a hard-paste style with garlands of flowers in natural colours and gilt scrolls.  Faint factory marks with the painter’s mark for Jacques-François-Louis de Laroche (active at Sèvres 1758-1801).

The decoration makes this very likely to have been the tray for a tea service of matching decoration – with a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and cup & saucer.
