A Sèvres Porcelain Covered Jug or Coffee Pot, 1785

This hard-paste porcelain was made as either a coffee pot or a covered jug for hot milk – the model is either a cafetière Boizot or a pot à lait nouveau. It is decorated with a gold ground and polychrome arabesques.

Gilded with the factory marks under a crown for hard paste; the date-letters hh for 1785; painter’s mark of a wreath for Nicolas Sinsson; gilder’s mark LF for André-Joseph Foinet, called La France.
