A Soft-Paste Sèvres Porcelain Sugar Bowl & Cover, 1756
This is a very pristine early Sèvres porcelain Sugar Bowl and Cover, pot à sucre Calabre of the third size. The painting of sprays of flowers and leaves is marked by Antoine-Touissant Cornailles (active at Vincennes and Sèvres 1755-1800) and the turquoise-blue ground colour and the rococo gilding are very fine on this piece.
