A Soft-Paste Sèvres Porcelain Tray, 1758

This is the tray for a small tea service of matching pieces.  The shape is a plateau du Roi of the 2nd size, decorated with ribbons of bleu lapis ground with very fine gilidng and flower painting.

Traces of the factory mark can be seen, but there is not date letter or painter’s mark but we can be sure it dates from circa 1758 and the flowers are very much in the style of the painter Louis-Jean Thévenet.
