A Vincennes Porcelain Flower Vase, 1755-6

This soft-paste porcelain flower vase, a cuvette à fleurs unie, is decorated with exceptionally fine gilding around the painted landscape decoration.

Factory mark in blue enclosing the date letter C for 1756; painter’s mark of a reversed S.  This painter’s mark is seen on other pieces decorated with landscapes with the date letters for 1755 to 1757 but the name of the artist is unidentified.

From the celebrated collection formed by Kenneth Galliers-Pratt, UK, from the 1930s to 1960s.
