A pot à sucre Hébert, second size. Interlaced Ls, painter’s mark a cross of five dots for Jacques Fontaine (active 1752- 1807).
This type of decoration, with coloured scrolls surrounding flower sprigs, is first found in the early 1750s, sometimes in pink, and is clearly a precursor of the popular feuille de chou decoration in use from the late 1750s until the 1780s.
