A Vincennes Tray with Handles, 1754-55

This is a fairly rare example of the plateau Hébert shape with handles.  It was made as the tray for a tea service – the components of which would have been decorated with the same bleu céleste ground colour, bouquets of flowers and the same gilded leaves and flowers.

From the celebrated Hillingdon Collection.
