Six Soft-Paste Sèvres Porcelain Teabowls and Saucers, 1767

Each with the factory mark in blue or grey enclosing the date letter O for 1767, adjacent painter’s mark S for Pierre-Antoine Méreaud (active at Vincennes and Sèvres 1754-91).

These unusual tea bowls and saucers are likely to have been part of a set of twelve perhaps.  The reason for this is that two others are known, one in formerly in a British private collection and one in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg.
