This is one of four corbeilles lozanges that were made for Louis XV’s bleu céleste (turquoise-blue) ground dinner service that was made for his use at Versailles from 1753 to 1755. This was the first ground colour dinner service produced by the Vincennes/Sèvres factory and many new shapes were designed for the service that were then made for services for the rest of the 18th century.Sold to a Private Collection, USA, 2003
