This green ground cooler for a half-bottle or decanter of wine – seau à demi-bouteille – was sold by the Sèvres factory to the Parisian marchand-mercier Simon Poirier in 1771.
This piece came from the wonderful collections of the Earls of Granard.
Purchased by The National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, 2009
