Literature

This théière litron is made of soft-paste porcelain and was painted by Charles-Nicolas Dodin with elaborate reserves depicting mythological scenes of Diana and Endymion. This comes from a tea service of matching decoration given by Napoleon Bonaparte to the King of Etruria in 1795. Most of the matching service is now in the Palazzo Pitti, Florence.

Factory mark in blue Sevres; date-letters SS for 1795; painter's mark k for Charles-Nicolas Dodin; gilder's mark 2000 for Henry-François Vincent.
