Literature
This shape of seau à bouteille was made in several sizes at the Sèvres factory in the 18th century - this is one of the larger sizes and was intended for cooling wine decanters in iced water.
With the date letter U for 1773 and the painter's mark for Commelin and the gilder's mark for Beaudoin.
