From a dinner service described as 'fond petit bleu, jolie arabesque variée sur chaque pièce entre deux cercles carmin garnis de perles, petis vases dans des cartels'.
The service was produced for the Sèvres factory's stock from late jn 1789 through to early 1791 and it included 28 plates each costing 36 livres each. It was one of 25 services supplied to Empaytaz et Compagnie, Négociants, in October to December 1794. David Peters has concluded that this dinner service was probably ordered originally by the London dealer Enoch Rittner, but the purchase was never completed.
Elements of this dinner service have appeared in various collections including a group including six plates sold from the collection of Baroness Burdett-Coutts in 1922 and another large group including 22 plates sold at Christie', London in 1956.
