This Sèvres Tea Service is set on a tray of the plateau losange à jour à anses shape also called a plateau losange à anses bâtons rompus.
The tray shape is remarkable for the large amount of piercing to its rim which required a large amount of patient time and skill in cutting and refining all the details.
From the collection of a château in France furnished in the 1830s and lived-in by the same family until recently.
