Cast Glass Sculpture with a Gilded Bowl, 2001

This is an example of Colin Reid’s technique of forming a stone-type shape using modelling clay to create the mould which is then used for one sculpture only

The large polished top surface allows one to view the irregular exterior surface through the solid glass

The small bowl is cut by hand and is water-giled with gold leaf
