Porcelain with gold lustre

Curneen has taken the traditional decorative palette of Blue and White Chinese ceramics and transferred it from pots to a human form. This implies that the figure is in a state of change, a common thread that runs through her work. The figure is embellished and over come by blue flowers which suggests abundance, yet the flowers slip from the body onto the base of the sculpture, a gentle reminder of a flowers bloom being short lived.
