Propagation Project, 2006

Forged mild steel, square spikes wax-coated.

This large and heavy sculpture has been made individual hammered units welded together to create a larger united form. Junko Mori uses this process of uniting unique multiples to develop her forms as a plant would grow and reproduce new leaves but each being slightly different than the other.
