French Royal Porcelain at Masterpiece Fair, London

At Masterpiece 2022, Adrian Sassoon will reveal an exceptional range of Sèvres porcelain made for the Kings of France, Louis XV and Louis XVI, in the second half of the 18th century. Worthy of note are rare representations of King Louis XVI, Queen Marie-Antoinette.

Full of royal symbols with two thriving dolphins and extravagant gilding, this clock was created for the King of France and perhaps the first one produced was purchased by Louis XVI and placed in his cabinet de bains at Versailles in 1778.
