Hitomi Hosono’s Nazuna Vase goes on display at London’s newly opened Japan House on Kensington High Street

We are excited to announce that Hitomi Hosono has a large work titled A Very Large Nazuna Vase on display at London’s newly opened Japan House.

Japan House presents the very best of Japanese art, design, gastronomy, innovation, and technology. At the beautifully designed space on Kensington High Street there is an exhibition gallery, Japanese restaurant and a retail floor of carefully curated Japanese products. Hosono’s vase is on show throughout August – it is a moulded, carved and hand-built porcelain vase with a yellow gold leaf interior. Her process is very labour intensive and incredibly precise – a piece on this scale takes a considerable time to create as once the moulded and carved leaves are applied to the vase the porcelain needs to be dried in a controlled way over a course of months.

Japan House have a diverse line–up of exhibitions, events, workshops, seminars and more.
