The Château Borély Museum purchase two vases by Hitomi Hosono and a sculpture by Robin Best

We are delighted to announce that Château Borély in Marseille have purchased A Black Leaves Tower, 2015, An English Daisy and Rose Vase, 2016 by Hitomi Hosono and Harold2016 by Robin Best. The two works by Hitomi Hosono showcase two totally different strands of her work both in the use of white and black porcelain as well as one open vessel and one sculptural tower. The porcelain monkey titled Harold makes reference to the romantic poem ‘Childe Harold’ by Lord Byron which was first published in 1812. The painted scheme that engulfs the figure draws imagery from this poem as well as making references to visual conventions of French Toile.
