These boxes are carefully formed into their shape and surface patterns by hammering and chasing with differing hammers and then cut halfway so that they match up when fitted back together. Hiroshi Suzuki has then added an interior lip so that the lid and base will always match perfectly. They are a delight to handle and are very satisfying to open and close
