More about A Soft-Paste Sèvres Porcelain Tray, circa 1770

This is a plateau du Roi of the 'first' or largest standard size made at Sèvres.  The pattern of decoration is particularly charming of 'gold bricks' and it would have been sold with matching tea wares. This is a piece that I have great affection for and which I first sold to a remarkable collector in the late 1980s.
