A Sèvres Porcelain Broth Bowl, Cover and Stand, 1770
This écuelle ronde tournée and plateau ovale of the second size are decorated with colourful roundels of rose and berried leaf garlands. Considering how unusual this scheme of decoration is, it is fascinating that we also have a ewer and basin of the same pattern and painted by the same artist currently in our stock.
Factory marks in red with the date-letter R for 1770; painter’s mark for Louis-Jean Thévenet.
